The story · Design 07Iron line

The joyof the Lord.

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10

The Joy of the Lord came from a verse that was completely opposite to how I felt when I created this design. I was upset with God, and truthfully, I still struggle. I could only see the hurt and pain in my life and could not find joy in anything around me.

Nehemiah 8:10 tells me that the joy of the Lord is my strength. It calls me to look to the God of all creation and find joy in Him, even when pain is all I can see.

I needed to open my heavy eyes and see the Lord in the pain. To allow His joy to break open my hardened heart. To remember that these circumstances do not define me and that this hurt does not have to take away the joy God has poured into my life.

Chosen. Rescued. Promised. These words remind me of who I am in Him. In the midst of everything, I hold on to those truths and look to Him for joy and strength.
