The story · Design 10Iron line

He trainsmy hands.

“Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.”

Psalm 144:1

My name means warrior. For much of my life, that has felt fitting. I have fought, or felt like I was fighting, through more seasons than I can count. Lately, Psalm 144 has become a place I return to for strength, perspective, and peace.

David opens by blessing the Lord, his Rock, who trains his hands for war and his fingers for battle. But the whole psalm speaks to me. David calls on God as his fortress, deliverer, shield, and refuge. He asks God to intervene—to flash lightning, scatter his enemies, and send His arrows. He trusts God to rescue him from deceitful words and to provide for his people.

I recognize that need in my own life. Looking back, I can see how God has prepared me for situations I could never have prepared for on my own. He has provided, protected, and carried me through. In the middle of a fight, I can lose sight of that. This passage brings me back to the One who has been with me through every season.

It has become so personal that I am having its imagery worked into my forearm sleeve—a lasting reminder of who prepares me, who protects me, and where my strength comes from. This shirt carries that same conviction.

The wrapped fist reflects the wear of battle and the willingness to keep going. The words give the glory to God. Whatever strength I have, He has helped build it. Whatever comes next, I can trust Him to prepare me for it.

My prayer is that this design reminds you of His faithfulness in your own battles. You can bring Him your exhaustion, your fear, and everything you cannot control. You can ask for strength and trust Him with the outcome.

He trains my hands for war. And I can rest knowing He has me.
